ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION TEXT



Before we discuss about Analytical Exposition, it's better for us to know what  Exposition text is and its kinds

DEFINITION
Exposition is a statement or type of composition intended to give information about (or an explanation of) an issue, subject, method, or idea. Adjective: expository. Compare with argument.

Exposition text has two forms namely Hortatory and Analytical. Beside both have different name, there is also a difference on how the genres consist of. In the Analytical exposition text, the generic structures will be Thesis, Arguments, and Reiteration, but on Hortatory Exposition text, the generic structures are Thesis, Arguments, and Recommendation.
Can you guess the difference?
Yes, it is the Reiteration and Recommendation.
The Reiteration will just conclude the text, but
the Recommendation to deepen your understanding about the genres.
There are two examples below consisted of same thesis, and same arguments but have different closing.
EXAMPLE 1: ANALYTICAL
Why Exercise is Important
The majority of us claim that we do not have time for exercise. We feel too busy to do that. However, many expert said that exercise has great role in making our body healthy.
Being physically active offers many advantages. In physical reword, exercise can reduce weight then our body will become fitter. Exercise is also believed to reduce stress levels, improve sleep patterns, and reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer. Beside physical advantage, exercise also brings good effects mentally. Due to the fitter body, exercise can make us feel refreshed and happy then we can increase our life quality and expectancy.
How can we do exercise while we are busy? Such question is commonly found among us. Actually exercise can be done in simple ways. We can go walking while shopping. In the office we can take stair rather than lift to run up and down. Or we can go cycling while enjoy the leisure time.
Overall, exercise helps us healthier physically and mentally. That is why exercise is very important to us.

What is Analytical Exposition?

Exposition is a text that elaborates the writer‘s idea about the phenomenon surrounding. Its social function is to persuade the reader that the idea is important matter.

Cars should be banned in the city
Thesis
Cars should be banned in the city. As we all know, cars create pollution, and cause a lot of road deaths and other accidents.
Arguments
Firstly, cars, as we all know, contribute to most of the pollution in the world.Cars emit a deadly gas that causes illnesses such as bronchitis, lung cancer, and ‘triggers’ off asthma. Some of these illnesses are so bad that people can die from them.
Secondly, the city is very busy. Pedestrians wander everywhere and cars commonly hit pedestrians in the city, which causes them to die. Cars today are our roads biggest killers.
Thirdly, cars are very noisy. If you live in the city, you may find it hard to sleep at night, or concentrate on your homework, and especially talk to someone.
Reiteration
In conclusion, cars should be banned from the city for the reasons listed.
